Editor's Letter - June

We’re almost there…..
Rather like building an extension or embarking on a crazily ambitious DIY project, it’s taking a tad longer than expected.

Just a tweak here;  a brush-up there and, very soon ( weeks rather than months, thankfully ) we will be bashing the proverbial champagne bottle against the Open Magazine ship ( and drinking lots of it too.)

You’ll see that we’re updating content more regularly, and this will continue and new features and reviews will soon be added every day.

Each week, I will tot up how much time and money I’ve spent on clothes ( a huge weakness of mine, ever since I went massively overdrawn at Uni for clothes and sundries bought in Pilot ) against how long and how much I’ve  been culturally and artistically up-to-the-minute.

CLOTHES vs CULTURE

Clothes

J Brand jeans - £130.
But, in my defence, I’ve been wearing the same £12  Primark skinnies for a YEAR.
Spent two hours browsing, checking and re-checking various shops and trying on.

Reiss Black T-Shirt - £30
10 minutes. Liked it immediately.

Culture

Anthony Gormley at the Hayward
Free with Press Card, but then spent £20 on a book and £1.99 on a set of mini crayons for my daughter.
Two and a half hours, including 45 minutes queuing time to see The Hatch ( and, for Lost fans, didn’t even see Sawyer when I got in there.)

Clothes - £160, 2 hours, 10 minutes

Culture - £21.99, 2 hours, 30 minutes
