Editor's Letter - Ho Ho Ho

Christmas comes but once a year. Thankfully. No, I’m not a miserable bah humbug. But the pressure to eat vol au vents; shimmer in a sparkly ( but understated ) frock and drink Gingerbread Lattes can be as weighty as our carrier bags bursting with 'must-have' presents.

So, with this in mind our Fashion Spread is inspired by exactly the way you’re not supposed to be during this jolly festive season.
Personally, it’s my favourite fashion story so far, because it’s got a pretty scary narrative, and could be about many things.

Who was the skeleton? Is she the ghost of Christmas Past? And who is the red present for?
Short of someone covered in a sheet going “ Whoohoo”  I think we’ve got something supernatural.

And, across London, there are plenty more plays, films and exhibitions cocking a snook at the Christmas cliches either by going totally kitsch or finding the dark underbelly of winter festivities.

Me?
Well, despite balking at tables heaving under the weight of breaded prawns and filo parcels I am actually in the Christmas mood.
I've got my tree, decorations, Advent calendar, festive tabelcloth, holly wreath, stocking and twinkling lights.
And a very excited three year-old.
