Editor's Letter - Don't Go Breaking My Art

15th October 2009, Loma-Ann Marks

This week London is giving it some art. It’s Frieze Art Fair, and the city is awash with buyers, dealers and art-lovers. Frieze has spawned many satellite fairs, including Zoo, which covers the emerging, up-and-coming market.

Open is reporting from both, so watch out for the inside story, appearing on the site over the next couple of days.

We went along to Damien Hirst’s new exhibition, No Love Lost, at the hallowed Wallace Collection. My personal view is that the artist could easily be the protagonist in that well-known fairytale about a naked emperor.

We also jumped and clapped our way through the electro-pop of Zoot Woman’s only UK date and, by complete contrast, rubbed shoulders with refined types at the Cheltenham Literature Festival.

It's been eclectic...

Until next week
