Damien Rice / UK premiere When the Dragon Swallowed the Sun, Tibet Film Festival

29th July, 7pm | ICA

The UK premiere of Dirk Simon’s ‘When the Dragon Swallowed the Sun’ is closing this year’s Tibet Film Festival in London, a film that’s created more anticipation than Take That’s come back tour, Frank Lampard’s disallowed World Cup goal and the ending of the world in 2012, all put together. It has taken 7 years to complete and when you consider the complex subject matter, Tibet’s Struggle for Independence, you can see why. A visually stunning film with a compelling story, what more can you ask for? Well actually, to get you warmed up before the showing, Damien Rice will perform live, the film’s title track ‘What If I’m Wrong’

What to wear: A waterproof mac, it’s a guaranteed tear jerker.
Who to go with: Good friends.
Who’ll be there: Intellectuals, environmentalists and Bob Geldof

The Wizard Of Oz at BFI

1st - 3rd January 2010 | BFI Southbank, Belvedere Road, South Bank, London. SE1 8XT

Christmas wouldn't be complete without a trip over the rainbow to Oz as Dorothy's house crushes the Witch of the East which in turn stirs up trouble with the witch's sister and some scary flying monkeys. Her trip on the yellow brick road ensures that she makes some new friends, sings some songs and eventually realises that there's no place like home. Marvellous.

Tickets: £9, Concessions £6.65, Members pay £1.40 less on any ticket
Times: 1st January 4.10pm, 2nd January 1.10pm, 3rd January 4pm
